Points of Consensus

The National VOAD Points of Consensus represent a shared commitment across our membership to uphold the highest standards of collaboration, ethics, and service in disaster response and recovery. Developed through the collective expertise of our committees and grounded in the spirit of the VOAD 4Cs, communication, coordination, collaboration, and cooperation. These guiding documents ensure alignment and accountability among all member organizations.

The Points of Consensus are minimal standards, ethical principles or operational principles specific to a relevant topic of the Committee. In the spirit of the National VOAD 4Cs, these articulate a point of agreement for all member organizations involved with the topic. To continue as a member of National VOAD, organizations are required to agree to abide by approved Points of Consensus. These documents require affirmation of the entire membership.
